RC hammers function similarly to conventional DTH hammers but feature an inner tube running through the hammer's center. This design collects cuttings through holes in the bit front and transports them via the inner tube, while flushing occurs between the bit splines and chuck. The inner tube serves as a wear component that can be easily replaced from the hammer's top.

Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling efficiently collects mineral and rock samples using large rotary drills and air compressors.
